The Council will lead a new era of economic growth by connecting diverse sectors across the Great Lakes Region to one another, discovering solutions to complex policy problems, and influencing decisions that affect the region’s long-term prosperity and sustainability.
The member-driven Council of the Great Lakes Region was established in 2013 to deepen the United States-Canada relationship in the binational Great Lakes economic region.
The Council is creating a stronger and more dynamic culture of collaboration between industry, government, academia, and the non-profit sector in finding new ways of harnessing the region’s economic strengths and assets, improving the prosperity of the region’s citizens, and protecting the environment for future generations.
The Council is the premier regional forum for corporate executives to engage with government leaders on key strategic issues facing the Great Lakes region’s competitiveness, growth, and sustainability, and to learn from forward-looking policy research and insights in order to make better decisions in an ever changing regional and global economy.
